dc.description.abstract | Introduction: In the last decades there has been an increase in environmental pollutants that can affect the results of TRA. Material and Methods: The association between the metals in semen (ICP-OES Mass Spectrometry) and its influence on ART in 102 patients treated in the Human Reproduction Unit of the University Hospital of the Canary Islands is analyzed. Results: 33.3% of men with a fertilization rate of less than 75% have Vanadium values higher than 0.7 mg/kg compared to only 15.8% in the group with a rate higher than 75%. The high Fe values tend towards high fertilization rates, thus, 31.6% of those with a fertilization rate higher than 75% exceeds 0.68 mg/kg compared to only 20.4% in the group with a rate lower than 75%. The high Fe values tend towards high fertilization rates, thus, 31.6% of those with a fertilization rate higher than 75% exceeds 0.68 mg/kg compared to only 20.4% in the group with a rate lower than 75%. Males who did not reach an embryo division rate of 100% had higher Pb values (p = 0,052), in addition with 63.6% and 38.5% in the group that reached 100%. Conclusion: V values above 0.7 mg/kg are related to a fertilization rate below 75%. Zn has a positive relationship with the fertilization rate. When the embryo division rate is less than 100% there are higher values of Pb and V. A good quality embryo rate is related to concentrations of Al less than 0.58 mg/Kg. | en |
