LESIÓN CEREBRAL Y TRABAJO LOGOPÉDICO

Abstract

El sistema nervioso central (SNC) se encuentra dividido en dos, en un lado se encuentra el encéfalo y por el otro la médula espinal. Es en el encéfalo donde se encuentra el cerebro, la zona de investigación que se llevará a cabo. Una lesión cerebral se adquiere cuando el cerebro sufre daños, ya sea de forma repentina o por causa justificada. Muchos de los pacientes que presentan lesiones cerebrales pierden de forma total o parcial la capacidad de comunicación, así como la movilidad a la hora de hablar y recordar ciertas palabras además de la capacidad para expresar pensamientos y comprender lo que se les dice. Es por esta razón por la cual la intervención logopédica es fundamental para la mejora de estos inconvenientes, así como para impulsar la adquisición de nuevas habilidades comunicativas compensatorias. En este trabajo se plasmarán los tipos de lesiones que pueden aparecer a lo largo de la vida de una persona, y como estas lesiones afectan al lenguaje, entre otras áreas. Además, se destacará el papel que conlleva la profesión de un/a logopeda en la rehabilitación de las secuelas relacionadas con estas. Incluyendo el trabajo multidisciplinar entre los diferentes profesionales que hacen que la rehabilitación del daño cerebral sea efectiva

The Central Nervous System (CNS) is divided into two parts. The encephalon is found on one side and on the other side it is the spinal cord. It is in the encephalon where the brain is located, which is the area this study is going to be carried out. A Brain injury is acquired when the brain suffers some damage. The vast mayority of patients who presents brain injuries lose their comunication ability as well as the mobility in their speech and the capacity to remember some words. Furthermore, the ability to express thoughts and the comprehension are damaged. This is the reason why the speech therapy intervention is fundamental for the improvement of these patients in order to boost the acquisition of these new comunication skills again. The aim of this work, is to mention the types of cerebral injuries which could appear during a patient´s life and take into account how these injuries affect to the language, amoung other areas. Furtheremore, it is going to be important to highlight the roel of the speech therapist in the rehabilitation is going to be highlighted. Including the mustidisciplinary work among differents professionals who make the brain injury rehabilitation effective.
