Plan de promoción para el astroturismo en Tenerife

Abstract

Astronomic tourism is considered an alternative touristic activity despite having many similarities to Nature, Cultural or Scientific tourism. A great deal of the Canarian population, together with people from mainland, are not conscious of the excellent quality the clean skies of the islands have, mainly Tenerife, and do not know anything about this type of tourism which has nothing to do with the typical marketing strategy of selling touristic resorts close to sunny beaches. We will try to design a promotion plan for astrotourism on the island of Tenerife in order to advertise this type of activity. First, we will do a marketing research on the type of potential customers and, second, we will design our promotion plan to be finally presented in the City Council.

El turismo astronómico o también llamado astroturismo es considerado un turismo alternativo, a pesar de tener grandes similitudes con el turismo de naturaleza y el turismo científico. Es probable que gran parte de la población tinerfeña, así como los turistas que visitan la isla, no sean conscientes de las excelentes cualidades que poseen los cielos de Tenerife y que desconozcan este tipo de turismo totalmente alejado del turismo convencional de sol y playa. Es por ello que el objeto de este estudio es elaborar un plan de promoción para el astroturismo en la Isla de Tenerife para impulsar dicha actividad. En primer lugar, elaboramos un estudio de mercado para conocer a la perfección a nuestro público objetivo y posteriormente realizaremos el plan de promoción para presentarlo en el Cabildo de Tenerife.
