El patio fantástico desde el protagonismo infantil: una indagación con alumnado de tercer ciclo de Educación Infantil

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación ha sido recoger las ideas de 12 niños y 11 niñas de tercer ciclo de educación infantil acerca de cómo desean que sea su patio escolar. Para ello se llevó a cabo una investigación de corte cualitativo e inductivo, la cual permitiera recoger de una manera cuidadosa y minuciosa sus ideas y sueños acerca de su patio escolar. El proceso de esta investigación se llevó a cabo en dos fases, en la primera hemos preparado al alumnado para que pueda soñar su patio fantástico; esta primera fase se divide a su vez en dos, donde en primer lugar se realizaron conversaciones informales con el alumnado, introduciendo así el tema a tratar con preguntas sobre espacios, materiales, etc. Y, en segundo lugar, conversaciones guiadas, siguiendo un guion de preguntas abiertas, para así poder conocer los diversos puntos de vista del alumnado. La segunda fase, también dividida en dos, fue centrada en la elaboración primeramente de bocetos del patio fantástico en grupos de 4 alumnos y alumnas, para continuar con la última parte, la cual fue la creación por toda la clase de un boceto compartido. En los hallazgos de la primera fase destacamos que fue un proceso conversacional donde el alumnado expresó entre otras cosas que echaban de menos en su patio de recreo y pudieron crear unos bocetos individuales muy originales de cómo les gustaría que fuese su patio ideal. De los hallazgos de la segunda fase destacamos, el buen trabajo en equipo del alumnado a la hora de hacer su patio ideal, además de la imaginación y ganas a la hora de hacer la representación con objetos. Los resultados obtenidos se han discutido poniendo en valor por un lado la capacidad imaginativa, de iniciativa y de curiosidad del alumnado de Educación Infantil y, por otro lado, los elementos lúdicos, espaciales y de naturaleza que los niños y niñas desean para su patio escolar.

The objective of this research was to collect the ideas of 12 boys and 11 girls in the third cycle of early childhood education about what they would like their schoolyard to be like. For this purpose, a qualitative and inductive research was carried out, which allowed us to collect in a careful and thorough way their ideas and dreams about their schoolyard. The process of this research was carried out in two phases, in the first one we prepared the students so that they could dream their fantastic playground; this first phase was divided into two, where firstly, informal conversations were held with the students, introducing the topic to be addressed with questions about spaces, materials, etc. And secondly, guided conversations, following a script of open questions, in order to get to know the different points of view of the students. The second phase, also divided in two, was focused on the elaboration of sketches of the fantastic courtyard in groups of 4 students, to continue with the last part, which was the creation of a shared sketch by the whole class. In the findings of the first phase, we highlight that it was a conversational process where the students expressed, among other things, what they missed in their playground and were able to create very original individual sketches of how they would like their ideal playground to be. From the findings of the second phase, we highlight the good teamwork of the students when making their ideal playground, as well as their imagination and enthusiasm when representing it with objects. The results obtained have been discussed, highlighting, on the one hand, the imaginative capacity, initiative and curiosity of the students and, on the other hand, the playful, spatial and natural elements that the children want for their schoolyard.
