Conociendo lo que hay debajo de nosotros

Abstract

El archipiélago canario es un territorio volcánico activo con una elevada densidad de población. Es necesario por tanto que sus habitantes conozcan las características del territorio en el que residen y de los riesgos asociados a la actividad volcánica. En el Currículum de Educación Primaria de la Comunidad Autónoma de Canarias aparecen pocos contenidos relacionados con el vulcanismo. Con este proyecto pretendemos iniciar a los/as alumnos/as en el conocimiento del fenómeno volcánico mediante actividades teórico-prácticas, que motiven al alumnado, creando así un aprendizaje significativo que perdurará en un largo periodo de tiempo.

The Canary Islands is an active volcanic territory with a high population density. It’s therefore necessary that its inhabitants know the characteristics of the territory in which they live and the risks associated with volcanic activity. In the Primary Education Curriculum of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands there are few contents related to volcanism. With this project we intend to initiate students in the knowledge of the volcanic phenomenon through theoretical and practical activities that motivate the students, thus creating a significant learning process that will last for a long period of time.
