Relación entre cuidados paliativos y el síndrome de burnout en enfermeros del Hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria.

Abstract

Los cuidados paliativos son aquellos que se realizan al final de la vida del paciente que se centran en aliviar y ayudar al enfermo a estar los últimos días de vida sin dolor y en paz. Requieren atención enfermera y muchas veces, una toma de decisiones urgentes que pueden desembocar en un estrés continuo de la enfermera debido a los minuciosos cuidados y a la convivencia con la muerte, al tratarse de pacientes con enfermedad terminal. De ahí que el objetivo principal de nuestra investigación sea conocer el nivel de burnout de los enfermeros y enfermeras en la unidad de paliativos en el Hospital Universitario nuestra Señora de Candelaria, siendo éste un diseño de carácter cuantitativo, analítico, transversal. Nuestro universo de estudio serán los enfermeros que atienden a pacientes de cuidados paliativos del Hospital de Ofra, pasando el cuestionario a un total de 24 enfermeros. El tiempo que nos ha llevado la realización de nuestra investigación ha sido un total de 7 meses. Una vez hemos analizado los datos, se ha obtenido un bajo índice de burnout en el personal sanitario que se ha ofrecido a realizar la encuesta, por lo que llegamos a la conclusión de que el personal está satisfecho con su trabajo y disfruta ejerciendo su profesión

Palliative care is care at the end of a patient's life that focuses on relieving and helping the patient to spend the last days of life in peace without pain, requiring nursing attention and often urgent decision making that can lead to continuous stress on the part of the nurse due to the meticulous care and constant dealing with death when treating this type of terminally ill patient. Hence, the main objective of our research is to know the level of burnout of nurses in the palliative care unit at the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria, this being a quantitative, analytical, cross-sectional design. Our study universe will be the nurses who attend palliative care patients at the Ofra Hospital, passing the questionnaire to a total of 24 nursing professionals. The time it has taken us to carry out our research has been a total of 7 months. Once we have analyzed the data, we have obtained a low burnout index in the health personnel who volunteered to carry out the survey, so we conclude that the personnel are happy with their work and enjoy exercising their profession.
