El papel del/la trabajador/a social en los cuidados al final de la vida.

Abstract

Este trabajo ha tenido como objetivo llevar a cabo una revisión bibliográfica de artículos empíricos con la finalidad de analizar el papel que el/la trabajador/a social debe desempeñar en relación a los cuidados al final de la vida. Para su realización se ha hecho uso del método PRISMA, a través del cual los documentos se han podido filtrar atendiendo a diferentes criterios: año de publicación (2000-2022), tipo de documento (artículos empíricos y tesis), idioma (inglés y español) y acceso abierto entre otros. Dicha búsqueda de estudios se llevó a cabo mediante las bases de datos Web Of Science (WOS), Scopus y Dialnet, de las cuales se extrajeron un total de 7 documentos. Los resultados que se obtuvieron a través del análisis de los documentos seleccionados permiten observar la falta de visibilidad que tiene el rol de la profesión en relación con los cuidados al final de la vida, sin embargo, todos los documentos resaltan la importancia de trabajar con el paciente y su familia a nivel social, resaltando por tanto, la figura del/la trabajador/a social dentro de dicho ámbito. Los estudios seleccionados no reflejan con claridad cuáles son los roles que el/la trabajador/a social debe llevar a cabo en cuanto a los cuidados al final de la vida. Sin embargo establecen las necesidades que deben ser atendidas y algunas estrategias que deben adoptarse durante el proceso, y es mediante esas necesidades y estrategias a través de las cuales se puede determinar el papel que el profesional puede adoptar.

This work has aimed to carry out a bibliographic review of empirical articles with the aim of analyzing the role that the social worker should play in relation to care at the end of life. The studies selected do not clearly reflect the roles that the social worker should perform in the end of life care. However, they establish the needs that must be addressed and some strategies that must be adopted during the process, and it is through these needs and strategies through which the role that the professional can adopt can be determined
