The following project shows the development of intersections with K-type geometry in carbon fibre for joining tubes, which could be used in tubular frames or structures. The ultimate goal will be the analysis of the solutions developed, studying the viability of the different manufacturing processes of the intersections and culminating the study with the test of these joints (until the break), showing the conclusions obtained from the experimental procedure. In this case, joints have been developed using 3 different types of manufacturing processes, where 3D printing has been used for making molds and water-soluble cores. Likewise, carbon fibre has been processed using wet laminates with vacuum curing. The main objective is to conclude whether this type of joints would be suitable to be used in tubular structures with carbon fibre tubes, being able to establish a reliable alternative to the traditional structures using aluminium/steel tubes joined by welding.en
