As a result of the research carried out within the framework of the work carried out with the company Prodel Agrícola, my interest in viticulture on the island of Tenerife begins in the first part Starting in the 1980s, there was a revolution in the productive modernization of the wine sector on the islands, as well as a small increase in the land cultivated with vines thanks to the institutional support of Europe. With the participation of the island territory within community rural development policies, the Canary Islands begin to receive aid for wine development and the culture that this englobe. This supports are one of the reasons why it has been possible to maintain the wine-growing landscape in certain areas of the Canary Islands, mainly in the Midlands. Their objective, however, has not been to reformulate viticulture with a productive or economic character, but rather to observe the conservation of the landscape and the viticultural culture of the islands, which was losing spaces steps at high steps. Among the causes would be urban development, and the change in the predominant economic model in the island territory, which in a few decades went from being agrarian to revolving around the service and tourism sector. To this is added, a higher qualification of the population in general and new employment opportunities in urban areas that distance the new generation from the agricultural field, generating a situation in the aging of this population, that seems to have no solution.en
