New Zealand writer Ane Kennedy published Música Ficta in 1993; a year earlier English author Peter Ackroyd published English Music. Both are trying to link, through music, the different manifestations of humankind: history, literature and art, love, creativity and spirituality are only aspects of people’s efforts to come to terms with their entourage. By erasing the boundaries of time, space, gender and genre Kennedy and Ackroyd are able to play sameness and difference in the same note.en_EN
