hacia su pareja The objective of this study is to analyse the differences between women and men
in sexting, analysing the relevance of living or not living with a partner in said
behaviour, as well as the association between sexting and intimate partner violence. For
this, a cross-sectional study was carried out with a sample made up of 227 people
(47.6% men and 52.4% women), aged between 18 and 44 who had a partner. A
statistically significant interaction was found between gender and whether they lived
with their partner or not, observing that in men sexting was independent of whether they
lived with their partner or not, while women sexted less when they lived with their
partner. The analysis of the association between sexting and intimate partner violence
showed that in women sexting is independent of the perpetration of violence against
their partner, but the greater active willingness and participation in sexting was
associated with greater victimization. On the contrary, in men sexting is independent of
victimization by partner violence, but those with a greater active disposition and greater
participation in sexting perpetrated more online violence against their partner.
