Rapio et amo: Hades, Perséfone y la recepción clásica en la cultura de masas contemporánea

Abstract

Este Trabajo de Fin de Máster tiene como punto de partida la recepción clásica en la cultura de masas contemporánea, que se tratará a través del mito del rapto de Perséfone y de su pervivencia en la literatura del siglo XXI. Tras presentar el relato original tal y como lo describen las fuentes clásicas, analizaremos cómo han cambiado los personajes con el paso de los siglos y por qué su temática ha pasado de ser un rapto a, en muchas ocasiones, una historia de amor. Inevitablemente trataremos, a través del análisis de este mito en la Antigüedad y en el presente, la figura de la mujer y algunas formas de violencia patriarcal. Esta investigación realizada sobre el ámbito de la recepción clásica concluirá en la presentación de una propuesta didáctica que tendrá como eje no sólo el conocimiento de la mitología grecorromana sino también la educación en valor

The starting point of this Final Master’s Project is the study of classical reception in contemporary mass culture through the myth of the rape of Persephone and its prevalence and importance in the literature of the 21st century. After presenting the myth as it is described by the original Greek and Roman sources, we will analyze how the characters have changed over the centuries and why the plot of the story has gone from being a rape—a kidnapping—to, more often than not, a love story. Inevitably, we will also focus, via the analysis of the myth both in Antiquity and in the present, on the role of women in society and some forms of patriarchal violence. This work of investigation about classical reception will conclude with the design of a didactic unit, whose core will not only be the knowledge of Greco-Roman mythology but also values educatio
