Importancia de la humanización del cuidado enfermero en pacientes oncológicos hospitalizados en la unidad de oncología del Hospital Universitario de Canarias.

Abstract

La humanización del cuidado en pacientes oncológicos es una pieza que está indiscutiblemente unida al manejo óptimo de la enfermedad y su valor es incuestionable, por ello el personal sanitario tiene que estar preparado psicológicamente y con las herramientas necesarias para acompañar y hacer que la estancia de los pacientes sea lo más llevadera posible. El principal objetivo de este proyecto es evaluar la percepción del paciente oncológico con relación al cuidado humanizado recibido por parte del personal de enfermería en la unidad de hospitalización oncológica del Hospital Universitario de Canarias, para ello se llevará a cabo un estudio descriptivo de carácter retrospectivo durante los meses de septiembre-diciembre del 2023; mediante dos cuestionarios, uno validado y otro de elaboración propia; utilizaremos variables sociodemográficas como edad y sexo, variables relacionadas con el tiempo de hospitalización y variables propias del estudio a través del cuestionario validado “Instrumento Percepción del Cuidado Humanizado en pacientes Hospitalizados”. Es importante que durante todo el proceso de diagnóstico de cáncer el paciente esté acompañado de una enfermera que tenga los conocimientos básicos para abordar los cuidados de este, tanto físicos como psicológicos. Conocer herramientas y estrategias alternativas como las terapias complementarias e invertir tiempo para poder lograr un cuidado humanizado y holístico del paciente.

The humanisation of care for oncology patients is an element that is indisputably linked to the optimal management of the disease and its value is unquestionable, which is why healthcare staff must be psychologically prepared and have the necessary tools to accompany patients and make their stay as manageable as possible. The main objective of this project is to evaluate the perception of the oncology patient in relation to the humanised care received by the nursing staff in the oncology hospitalisation unit of the HUC, for which a retrospective descriptive study will be carried out during the months of September-December 2023; We will use socio-demographic variables such as age and sex, variables related to the length of hospitalisation and variables specific to the study through the validated questionnaire "Instrument for the Perception of Humanised Care in Hospitalised Patients". It is important that during the whole process of cancer diagnosis the patient is accompanied by a nurse who has the basic knowledge to deal with the care of the patient, both physical and psychological. Knowing alternative tools and strategies such as complementary therapies and investing time in order to achieve a humanised and holistic care of the patient.
