Plan de rehabilitación del Patrimonio Histórico del barrio de El Toscal

Abstract

El barrio de El Toscal, situado en Santa Cruz de Tenerife, cuenta con un valioso patrimonio histórico. Se caracteriza por sus calles estrechas, casas tradicionales y edificios emblemáticos que reflejan la arquitectura canaria. En este barrio se encuentran varios edificios protegidos, sin embargo, a lo largo de los años, el patrimonio histórico de El Toscal ha enfrentado desafíos debido al deterioro, la falta de mantenimiento y la dejadez tanto por parte de las administraciones públicas como por los propios locales. En respuesta a esta situación, se han llevado a cabo distintas iniciativas de rehabilitación y conservación a lo largo de los años, los cuales parecen que han quedado en el olvido porque no se observa ninguna actuación positiva ni ninguna mejora en el barrio. El TFG consiste en hacer ver la joya histórica y arquitectónica que posee el Toscal en el corazón de Santa Cruz de Tenerife e intentar ofrecer posibles soluciones para preservar y poner en valor estos elementos históricos, promoviendo así el turismo cultural en la zona.

The neighborhood of El Toscal, located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, has a valuable historical heritage. It is characterized by its narrow streets, traditional houses, and emblematic buildings that reflect Canarian architecture. In this neighborhood, there are several protected buildings, however, over the years, the historical heritage of El Toscal has faced challenges due to deterioration, lack of maintenance and neglect both by public administration and by the local people themselves. In response to this situation, rehabilitation and conservation initiatives have been carried out over the years, which seem to have been forgotten because no positive action or improvement is observed in the neighborhood. This TFG consists of showing the historical and architectural jewel that the Toscal has in the heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and trying to offer possible solutions to preserve and enhance these historical elements and also promoting cultural tourism in the area.
