La Mutilación Genital Femenina es una práctica en la que se van a ver afectado varios derechos de las mujeres y niñas, siendo una costumbre discriminatoria hacia las mismas. A lo largo del tiempo, ha quedado patente que la figura del hombre se ha encontrado en una posición superior a la de la mujer, viéndose éstas obligadas a adoptar comportamientos que van a girar en torno a la satisfacción y aceptación del género masculino, llevando a cabo costumbres como la que va a ser objeto de este trabajo en las que también se van a ver afectadas las niñas. Es precisamente por lo mencionado, que este trabajo va a reflejar los derechos que se ven vulnerados, así como los instrumentos para su superación. Además, se pretende hacer un mayor énfasis en Senegal, país en el que a día de hoy se sigue llevando a cabo la mutilación.
