Patrimonio ferroviario como dinamizador de oferta turística en Jesús María, Córdoba, Argentina

Abstract

Jesús María fue fundadas gracias al trazado ferroviario que conllevó a la unificación de Córdoba con Tucumán. Sin embargo, el patrimonio vinculado a esta obra de ingeniería se percibe desaprovechado, difuminándose en el paisaje urbano local a pesar de ser transversalizado por las vías. La inexistencia de servicios de pasajeros y el uso de transporte de cargas ha derivado en el descuido identitario particular de esta sociedad. La necesidad de definir la representación social existente sobre el ferrocarril, por medio de relevamientos bibliográficos, documentales, de campo y con análisis cualitativos y cuantitativos, posibilita la proyección y configuración de recorridos recreativo‐turísticos que reivindiquen el patrimonio existente, a la vez que se diversifica la oferta turística, beneficiando la calidad de vida de la población anfitriona a la vez que se otorgan experiencias y vivencias singulares a los turistas que hagan uso de su tiempo ocioso en el área objeto de estudio.

Jesús María was founded thanks to the railway line that led to the unification of Córdoba with Tucumán (Argentina). However, the heritage linked to this work of engineering is perceived as wasted, fading into the local urban landscape despite being traversed by the roads. The non‐existence of passenger services and the use of cargo transport has led to neglect of the specific identity of this place. The need to define the existing social representation on the railway, by bibliographical, documentary and field surveys with qualitative and quantitative analyses, makes it possible to project and configure recreational‐tourist routes that recycle the existing heritage, while at the same time diversifying the tourism on offer, benefiting the quality of life of the host population while granting unique experiences to tourists who make use of their leisure time in the area under study.
