La Invención de las mujeres: un análisis de la perspectiva de género de Oyèronké Oyewùmí

Abstract

La meta de este trabajo de fin de curso es presentar una interpretación de la situación histórica de género que presenta Oyèronké Oyewùmí en su obra “La invención de las mujeres”. En este trabajo de revisión teórica analizaremos las tendencias de corriente Europea y Norteamericana que influyeron en la construcción de la Nigeria actual. Para ello, nos centraremos en las líneas de investigación más importantes de los últimos años, y de manera paralela, mencionaremos de modo superficial algunas de las cuestiones más controvertidas que han ocurrido en las últimas décadas. Por otra parte, a través de esta investigación analizaremos las conjeturas teóricas que nos sugiere Oyewumi sobre el impacto de las construcciones de género en el continente africano. Para ello, nos situaremos en el movimiento postcolonial con la finalidad de entender la renovación de los estudios históricos y sus repercusiones en el ámbito social en los últimos años entre el continente africano y el europeo.

The main goal of this end of course project is to showcase my personal interpretation of the female gender within a historical context, focusing on the book “La invención de las mujeres” by Oyèronké Oyèwumí. Therefore, during this final theoretical project we shall analyze the influential tendencies of Europe and North America within the construction of Nigeria and how they are still present in their current society. Furthermore, in orden to preperly analyze the publication, we will focus on the most important lines of research in the most recent years, and in parallel, we will also mention some of the most controversial issues that have occured in the ecent decades. On the other hand, through this investigation we will analyze the theoretical conjectures that Oyewumi suggests about the impact of the gender constructions in the African continent. For that purpose, we will center on the postcolonial movement with the aim of understanding the renovation of the historical studies and itsrepercussions in the social sphere in the latest years between the African and the European continent.
