Relación entre estilos de apego, tipos de amor y neuroticismo en las relaciones sentimentales amorosas

Abstract

El objetivo del presente estudio ha sido analizar la relación entre los diferentes tipos de apego adulto, las dimensiones del amor y el neuroticismo en las relaciones amorosas. Para este fin se ha recogido una muestra de 176 sujetos que en el momento del estudio tuvieran algún tipo relación sentimental amorosa. Las variables analizadas en el estudio se midieron a través del cuestionario de apego adulto revisado (CAA-r) de Melero y Cantero (2021), la escala breve de amor de Sternberg, (Ventura et al. 2020) y la sub-escala de neuroticismo del cuestionario revisado de personalidad de Eysenck (1990). Las personas con estilos de apego seguro muestran niveles más altos de intimidad, compromiso y pasión en sus relaciones sentimentales amorosas, según los resultados. Por otro lado, aquellos con estilos de apego inseguro: alejado, temeroso y preocupado, presentan dificultades en estas dimensiones del amor, con niveles más bajos. Específicamente, el estilo de apego alejado enfrenta dificultades en las tres dimensiones del amor, mientras que el temeroso se ve afectado en la intimidad y el preocupado en la intimidad y el compromiso. Además, las personas con apego seguro tienen menores niveles de neuroticismo en comparación con las personas con apego inseguro, siendo el estilo temeroso el que muestra los niveles más altos, seguido del preocupado. Se encontraron diferencias significativas entre hombres y mujeres en las dimensiones del amor de Sternberg, donde los hombres muestran mayores niveles de intimidad, compromiso y pasión en las relaciones amorosas. Estos resultados sugieren la importancia de continuar investigando la relación entre los estilos de apego, las dimensiones del amor y el neuroticismo.

The objective of the present study has been to analyze the relationship between different types of adult attachment, types of love, and neuroticism in romantic relationships, in order to determine if there is a significant association between these variables. For this purpose, a sample of 176 subjects who were currently involved in a romantic relationship at the time of the study was collected. The variables analyzed in the study were measured using the Revised Adult Attachment Questionnaire by Melero and Cantero (2021), the Sternberg's Triangular Love Scale (Ventura et al., 2020), and the Neuroticism subscale of Eysenck's Revised Personality Questionnaire (1990). according to the results, individuals with secure attachment styles exhibit higher levels of intimacy, commitment, and passion in their romantic relationships. On the other hand, those with insecure attachment styles, such as dismissive, fearful, and preoccupied, experience difficulties in these dimensions of love, with lower levels. Specifically, the dismissive attachment style faces challenges in all three dimensions of love, while the fearful style is affected in terms of intimacy, and the preoccupied style in terms of both intimacy and commitment. Additionally, individuals with secure attachment have lower levels of neuroticism compared to those with insecure attachment, with the fearful style showing the highest levels, followed by the preoccupied style. Significant differences were found between men and women in the Sternberg's dimensions of love, where men exhibit higher levels of intimacy, commitment, and passion in romantic relationships. These results suggest the importance of further investigating the relationship between attachment styles, dimensions of love, and neuroticism.
