Turismo sostenible en Canarias. Especial referencia a las implicaciones medioambientales, socioculturales y económicas.

Abstract

This work analyzes, from a legal point of view, the sustainability of tourism activity in the Canary Islands. In addition, the legislative evolution of the Canarian tourism model to date is developed in order to understand the progress it has made and its efforts to produce a transformation in favor of a sustainable tourism sector. On the other hand, the work also tries to examine the legislative framework at both the national and regional levels to establish the laws that affect the tourism sector and its sustainability on the islands. Likewise, a consideration is made of the legal reforms that stand out most in this area and that have been carried out in order to pursue the sustainability of the tourism sector. Finally, the most relevant contribution of the work consists of establishing a future legislative scenario for tourism sustainability with the aim of the negative impacts that could appear in the Canary Islands.

Este trabajo analiza, desde un punto de vista jurídico, la sostenibilidad en la actividad turística del archipiélago canario. Además, se desarrolla la evolución legislativa del modelo turístico canario hasta la actualidad para poder comprender el progreso que ha tenido éste y su empeño en que se produzca una transformación a favor de un sector turístico sostenible. Por otro lado, el trabajo también trata de examinar el marco legislativo tanto a nivel nacional como autonómico para establecer las leyes que afectan al sector turístico y su sostenibilidad en las islas. Asimismo, se hace una consideración a las reformas legales que más destacan en este ámbito y que se han llevado a cabo con el fin de perseguir la sustentabilidad del sector turístico. Por último, la aportación más relevante del trabajo consiste en establecer un futuro escenario legislativo de sostenibilidad turística con el objeto de los impactos negativos que podrían aparecer en Canarias.
