Musicoterapia como intervención enfermera en pacientes con diagnóstico de esquizofrenia

Abstract

La esquizofrenia es un trastorno mental que causa gran sufrimiento a los pacientes diag- nosticados. El tratamiento de la sintomatología es complejo, ya que abarca un grupo muy heterogéneo de afectaciones. Actualmente el tratamiento de esta enfermedad se basa en la farmacoterapia, con la que se puede tratar una parte de los síntomas pero que a menudo deja muchos otros al descubierto, aquellos síntomas que no están siendo contemplados disminuyen la calidad de vida de los pacientes. Por ello es necesario que se apliquen terapias alternativas en conjunto con el tratamiento farmacológico y que puedan actuar sobre la sintomatología negativa de esta enfermedad. En la taxonomía enfermera existe como intervención la musi- coterapia, con lo que se evidencia científicamente que las enfermeras tienen capacidad para realizar este tipo de actuaciones aportando grandes beneficios a los pacientes.

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that causes great suffering to diagnosed patients. The treatment of the symptomatology is complex as it encompasses a very heterogeneous group of affectations. Currently the treatment of this disease is based on pharmacotherapy with which a part of the symptoms can be treated but often leaves many others uncovered, those symptoms that are not being contemplated diminish the quality of life of the patients.
