Estudio de la dispersión urbana “urban sprawl” en el sector sur del municipio de La Orotava

Abstract

La dispersión urbana afecta a cualquier área del globo, por lo tanto se deben de tomar medidas con el objetivo de mitigar este problema. Este estudio se ha centrado en el sector sur del municipio de La Orotava, Tenerife. En él se ha llevado a cabo un análisis y síntesis de las componentes principales que lo caracterizan: la estructura edificada y los viarios. El tratamiento combinado de estas componentes nos permite establecer los patrones de esa dispersión. El inventario y el tratamiento empleado permiten diagnosticar el patrón espacial y el poco éxito del planeamiento urbanístico en su corrección y contención. Por ello, y sobre esta base proponemos unas determinaciones de mejora como conclusión.

The urban sprawl affects any area of the globe, should therefore be to take measures with the goal of alleviating this problem. This study has focused on the southern sector of the municipality of La Orotava, Tenerife. It has carried out an analysis and synthesis of the main components that characterize it: the structure built and the road. The combined treatment of these components allows us to establish the patterns of that dispersal. The inventory and the treatment used allow you to diagnose the spatial pattern and the little success of urban planning in their correction and containment. For this reason and on this basis we propose some determinations of improvement as a conclusion.
