Una propuesta de programa de intervención logopédica para un adulto con Síndrome del Maullido de Gato

Abstract

El Síndrome del Maullido de Gato (SMG), es una enfermedad rara (1:10.000) causada por la deleción total o parcial del cromosoma 5. Recibe su nombre debido a que su síntoma distintivo se presenta durante el llanto, que se asemeja al maullido de un gato. La población que padece este síndrome es muy heterogénea en cuanto a características médicas y físicas, pero todos ellos cursan con discapacidad intelectual y psicomotriz. La finalidad de este trabajo es confeccionar un programa de intervención logopédico individualizado para lograr que la comunicación oral de una mujer adulta con SMG sea más rica y elaborada. Los objetivos principales son incrementar vocabulario y ampliar la longitud estructural de las oraciones. Por último, para verificar si el plan de acción está siendo efectivo y se están alcanzando los objetivos establecidos, se llevará a cabo una evaluación durante el desarrollo del programa para modificarlo si fuese necesario.

The Cri du Chat Syndrome (CCS) is a rare genetic disorder caused by a total or partial deletion of chromosome 5, children are typically diagnosed by a doctor at birth due to the distinctive cry (similar to that of a meowing kitten). The population presenting this condition is very diverse in terms of medical and physical characteristics, but all have intellectual and psychomotor disabilities. The purpose of this project is to develop an individualized speech therapy intervention program for an adult woman with CCS, thus aiming to achieve a richer and more elaborate communication. The main goals are to broaden vocabulary and expand sentence structure. Finally, in order to verify that the action plan is being effective and that the established goals are being met, an on-going evaluation of the program will be carried out so that it can be modified if necessary.
