This Master's Thesis holds a proposal for an Annual Didactic Programming for the Physics and
Chemistry subject in 2nd year of Secondary Education, within the legal framework of the
educational law LOMLOE, and contextualized in IES San Benito, an educational institution
located in the outskirts of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, in Tenerife, in the neighborhood with
the same name. Previous to the development of this Didactic Programming proposal, an
exhaustive analysis of the characteristics of the educational institution and a critical analysis of
the existing Physics and Chemistry Department´s Annual Didactic Programming for the subject
and level at issue has been done. Furthermore, it has been developed one of the Learning
Situations present in the sequence proposed in the Programming. It is titled: “Strength
Workout”. This situation exemplifies the advantage of building scientific knowledge through
students´ opinions, perceptions and experiences in their closest and daily context. The usage
of active methodologies centered in the promotion of students´ participation is the base to
captivate them in these scientific disciplines.
