Abstract

Este artículo aborda la cobertura informativa que recibió la cinta Quo vadis? (1912), dirigida por el cineasta Enrico Guazzoni, en los principales rotativos de Tenerife, durante el año 1914. El estreno de este largometraje, el primer film «colosal» de la historia del cine, se convirtió en un extraordinario acontecimiento cinematográfico para los espectadores tinerfeños de la época. Además, la empresa del Parque Recreativo, uno de los locales de espectáculos donde esta cinta fue exhibida, realizó uno de los mayores despliegues publicitarios dedicados a una cinta de temática histórica durante este momento en las páginas de la prensa insular.

This article discusses the informative coverage given to the film Quo vadis? (1912), directed by the filmmaker Enrico Guazzoni, into the main newspapers of Tenerife, during the year 1914. The premier of this picture, the first film «Colossal» of the History of the Cinema,
