Participación ciudadana: el caso del Ayuntamiento de San Cristóbal de La Laguna

El objetivo de este Trabajo de Fin de Grado consiste en el análisis de la participación ciudadana
en el Ayuntamiento de La Laguna. Para lograr este objetivo, primeramente, se estudiarán las
teorías de participación ciudadana, los tipos y niveles, así como los beneficios que da a la gestión
pública y la democracia.
Se realizará una comparativa entre las formas y métodos utilizados en materia de participación
ciudadana en ciertos países de Europa y de Hispanoamérica, donde se verán tanto las similitudes
como las diferencias entre las prácticas utilizadas en ambos continentes.
Por último, nos centraremos en el caso de la participación ciudadana en el Ayuntamiento de La
Laguna, donde haremos referencia a la Ley canaria de Participación Ciudadana y al Reglamento
de Participación Ciudadana del Ayuntamiento de La Laguna de 1993, en el que veremos cada una
de las formas de participación, funciones y características de la descentralización llevada a cabo,
haciendo una breve conclusión y recomendaciones finales como propuestas para mejorar la
interacción entre el gobierno local y la ciudadanía. The objective of this Final Degree Project is to analyze citizen participation in the City Council of
La Laguna. To achieve this objective, we will first study the theories of citizen participation, as well
as the types and levels of participation, and the benefits and importance that participation brings to
public management and democracy.
A comparative analysis will be conducted on the forms and methods used in citizen participation in
certain European and Latin American countries, highlighting both the similarities and differences
between the practices used on both continents.
Lastly, we will focus on the case of citizen participation in the City Council of San Cristóbal de La
Laguna, with special reference to the Canary Islands Citizen Participation Law and the current
Regulations of Citizen Participation of the City Council of La Laguna of 1993, where we will examine
each form of participation, functions, and characteristics. A brief conclusion and final
recommendations will be provided as proposals to improve the interaction between the local
government and the citizens
