Bienes inmuebles de uso restringido. El caso del Patrimonio Nacional.

La entidad conocida como Patrimonio Nacional gestiona muchos de los palacios,
monasterios, jardines y colecciones más destacados y monumentales de España, varios
de los cuales atraen a millones de turistas cada año y constituyen activos clave para el
patrimonio cultural del país. Sin embargo, algunos de sus edificios, como la Residencia
Real de La Mareta en Lanzarote o el Palacete Albéniz en Barcelona, no están al alcance
del visitante común, una realidad que contradice un poco la idea de patrimonio
“nacional”. Esta tesis consistirá no sólo en un estudio en profundidad del Patrimonio
Nacional y su funcionamiento interno, sino también en dos hipotéticas propuestas, una
para La Mareta y otra para el Palacio Albéniz, para abrirlos y darles un nuevo uso público.
Estas dos propuestas se compararán a lo largo de este proyecto antes de llegar a una
conclusión sobre la potencial efectividad de cada idea y si la apertura y el nuevo uso y
gestión de estos dos palacios restringidos serían realmente fructíferas o no. The entity known as Patrimonio Nacional (National Heritage) manages many of Spain’s
most remarkable and monumental palaces, monasteries, gardens and collections, several
of which attract millions of tourists every year and constitute key assets for the country’s
cultural heritage. However, some of its buildings, such as the Royal Residence of La
Mareta in Lanzarote and the Albéniz Palace in Barcelona, are not within reach of the
common visitor, a reality which somewhat contradicts the idea of “national” heritage.
This dissertation will consist not only of an in-depth study of Patrimonio Nacional and
its inner workings, but also of two hypothetical proposals, one for La Mareta and another
for the Albéniz Palace, to open them up and give them a new public use. These two
proposals will be compared throughout this project before reaching a conclusion about
the potential effectiveness of each idea and if the opening and new use and management
of these two restricted palaces would truly be fruitful or not.
