El abandono escolar En Canarias

Abstract

En este trabajo se hará una revisión bibliográfica acerca del Abandono Escolar Temprano producido en las Islas Canarias y Baleares. Más concretamente, nos centraremos en estos estudios que enfocan su atención en el nivel educativo de la Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (ESO). Este acotamiento se hace por dos razones principales. Por un lado, se trata de un periodo vital muy marcado por el proceso de transición hacia la edad adulta, y, por otro lado, los jóvenes de 15 y 16 años, presentan un aumento significativo de abandono durante los últimos 10 años. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es analizar los factores que se relacionan con este problema, destacados por los investigadores e instituciones internacionales como el más preocupante para el desarrollo y bienestar social.

In this paper we will make a bibliographic review of Early School Leaving in the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands. More specifically, we will focus on these studies that focus their attention on the educational level of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO). This limitation is made for two main reasons. On the one hand, it is a vital period marked by the process of transition to adulthood, and, on the other hand, young people aged 15 and 16 have shown a significant increase in dropout over the last 10 years. The main objective of this work is to analyze the factors that are related to this problem, highlighted by researchers and international institutions as the most worrying for development and social welfare.
