El duelo infantil no complicado: aspectos psicológicos que lo favorecen o dificultan. Una revisión

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se revisan artículos centrados en aspectos psicológicos de los niños en duelo por la muerte de un ser querido. Las referencias se han limitado a textos publica- dos en castellano en los 10 últimos años. Se pretende realizar una compilación que ayude a identificar y localizar los aspectos que favorecen y perjudican los procesos adaptativos. Inicialmente se intentan clarificar tres aspectos contextuales importantes: cómo se desarrolla y evoluciona el concepto de muerte en la infancia, qué define al duelo sano y cómo incide el rol de la familia en este proceso del niño. En el núcleo de la investigación se recogen los aspectos metodológicos más destacables y los resultados hallados en relación con el objetivo de identificar los aspectos psicológicos que facilitan y dificultan el duelo infantil normalizado, en su vertiente individual y familiar –quedando excluido el ámbito social–. Finalmente se revisan los factores que facilitan un duelo sano y los indicadores y factores que lo limitan.

This paper reviews articles focused on psychological aspects of children grieving the death of a loved one. References have been limited to texts published in Spanish in the last 10 years. The aim is to compile a compilation that will help identify and locate the aspects that promote and hinder adaptive processes. Initially, an attempt is made to clarify three important contextual aspects: how the concept of death in childhood develops and evolves, what defines healthy grief, and how the role of the family affects this process in children. The core of the research includes the most notable methodological aspects and the results found in relation to the objective of identifying the psychological aspects that facilitate and hinder normalized childhood grief, in its individual and family aspects – excluding the social sphere. Finally, the factors that facilitate healthy grief and the indicators and factors that limit it are reviewed.
