Terapia manual y su influencia en el párkinson. Una revisión sistemática

Abstract

Esta revisión pretende estudiar las técnicas de terapia manual (TM) que se han usado en el contexto de la fisioterapia como terapia complementaria en el tratamiento interdisciplinar de la enfermedad de Parkinson (EP). Así mismo, se valora cómo puede contribuir este tipo de terapia de una forma eficaz a mejorar la calidad de vida relacionada con la salud en las personas que sufren esta patología. Objetivos: Estudiar la evidencia científica sobre la TM

y su inclusión en el tratamiento de pacientes con EP. Métodos: Se realizó una revisión siste- mática que evidencie los beneficios de la TM en pacientes con EP. Las bases de datos fueron

consultadas de forma independiente por tres investigadores entre los meses de septiembre y octubre de 2023 para la búsqueda de artículos en distintas bases de datos. Resultados: Se seleccionaron 5 artículos que cumplieron con los criterios necesarios para ser incluidos en la revisión sistemática. Conclusión: La aplicación de TM influye positivamente sobre los síntomas motores y no motores de la EP, haciendo que este tipo de terapia se sea susceptible de ser incluida en el tratamiento multidisciplinar de la EP.

This work aims to study the techniques of manual therapy (MT) hat have been used in the context of Physiotherapy as complementary therapy in the interdisciplinary treatment of Parkinson’s disease (PD). Likewise, it is evaluated how this type of therapy can contribute in an effective way to improving the health-related quality of life in people who suffer from this pathology. Objectives: To study the scientific evidence about MT and its inclusion in the treatment of patients with PD. Methods: A systematic review was carried out that evidences the benefits of MT in patients with PD. The databases that were independently consulted by three researchers between the months of September and October 2023 for the search for articles in different databases. Results: 5 articles were selected that met the necessary criteria to be included in the systematic review. Conclusions: The application of MT positively influences the motor and non-motor symptoms of PD, making this type of therapy susceptible to being included in the multidisciplinary treatment of PD.
