Intervención logopédica en la enfermedad de Alzheimer

Abstract

La enfermedad de Alzheimer constituye la primera causa de demencias en la tercera edad, este envejecimiento patológico de la población y sus consecuencias en el ámbito del lenguaje y de la comunicación, reflejan la necesidad de una intervención logopédica. Por lo que, tras la selección y evaluación de un grupo de pacientes con Alzheimer de una residencia para mayores, se ha llevado a cabo un programa de intervención que se encarga de la estimulación del lenguaje con el fin de retrasar el incremento del deterioro que se produce en estas enfermedades neurodegenerativas, habiendo obtenido unas ligeras mejorías tras la evaluación final.

Alzheimer's disease constitutes the first reason of demencias in the third age, this pathological aging of the population and his consequences in the area of the language and of the communication, reflect the need for a speech therapy intervention. Therefore, after the selection and evaluation of a group of patients with Alzheimer of an old people's home , there has been carried out a program of intervention that one entrusts of the stimulation of the language in order to delay the increase of the deterioration that takes place in these neurodegenerative diseases, having obtained a few light improvements after the final evaluation.
