Recursos para el geoturismo en el municipio de Candelaria (Tenerife, España)

Abstract

Los destinos turísticos maduros están experimentando cambios legislativos, urbanos y de productos turísticos. El geoturismo es una modalidad reciente que consiste en la explotación turística del patrimonio natural y cultural asociado al relieve. Candelaria tiene un turismo fundamentalmente religioso y de sol y playa, pero cuenta con una gran diversidad de recursos turísticos. El objetivo del TFG es identificar los recursos naturales y culturales del municipio con interés para el geoturismo. La metodología empleada se ha basado en una ficha de campo donde se identifica y valoran los recursos seleccionados y se calcula el geopatrimonio de los naturales. Se han seleccionado un total de veintidós lugares de los que diez son naturales y doce culturales y que muestran la diversidad de las formas y procesos del volcanismo del municipio y cómo los materiales volcánicos han sido empleados en la construcción y ornamentación de los diferentes edificios.

Mature tourist destinations are experiencing changes legislative, urban and tourism products. Geotourism is a recent modality consisting of the tourist exploitation of the natural and cultural heritage associated with the relief. Candelaria has fundamentally religious tourism of Sun and beach, but has a wide variety of tourism resources. TFG´s objectives are to identify natural and cultural resources of the municipality with interest for Geotourism. The methodology used is based on a form field where is identified and valued the selected resources and estimated the Geoheritage of the natural resources. A total of twenty-two places of which ten are natural and twelve cultural and showing the diversity of the forms and processes of the volcanism of the municipality and how volcanic materials have been employed in the construction and decoration of the different buildings have been selected.
