La Educación en la Roma Antigua

Abstract

El presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado versará sobre la educación en la Roma antigua, teniendo en cuenta la influencia de la educación griega en la misma y los cambios que se produjeron a nivel educativo, tanto el en periodo Imperial como en la época Bajo Imperial. Así, abordaremos la educación tradicional con la figura del mos maiorum, la importancia del Paedagogus, y los tres niveles de enseñanzas (escuela elemental, escuela secundaria y enseñanza superior) que podían alcanzar los ciudadanos romanos en la educación pública. Por consiguiente, el objetivo de este trabajo es realizar un acercamiento a la antigua enseñanza romana, intentando comprender el papel que tuvo la misma dentro de este contexto histórico.

The present Work of End of Degree will be on the education in the ancient Rome, considering the influence of Greek education in the same one and the changes that took place in educational level, as much in Imperial period as in the time Low Empire. Well, we will approach traditional education with the figure of the mos maiorum, the importance of the Paedagogus, and the three levels of education (elementary school, secondary school and higher education) that Roman citizens could achieve in public education. Therefore, the objective of this work is to make an approach to the old Roman teaching, trying to understand the role that it had in this historical context.
