La recuperación de antiguas vías pecuarias y su incidencia socioterritorial en Tenerife: La Cañada Lagunera.

Abstract

La Cañada Lagunera o Cañada Verde es uno de los caminos estructurantes de Tenerife que tiene como punto de referencia la Milla Cero del Lomo de La Concepción, al igual que la red de caminos tradicionales que con ella se relacionan. Este camino rodea la ciudad de San Cristóbal de la Laguna y va cresteando por las montañas que la circunvalan. En la actualidad, la Asociación de Amigos de La Cañada ha puesto en resalte su importancia, por su gran valor paisajístico, medioambiental, histórico, cultural y etnográfico, hecho perceptible conforme transitamos por esta antigua vía pecuaria. Con este estudio tratamos de identificar y explicar los valores y recursos que alberga y la importancia que tendría impulsar su recuperación y valorización, no sólo para rescatar parte de nuestra historia, sino para dinamizar el Área Metropolitana habilitando una red senderista en la que también se podría acoger otro tipo de actividades y deportes al aire libre, convirtiéndose así en un punto de atracción para el ocio y la recreación de la población local y para el desarrollo turístico de esta parte de la isla.
