The improvement in childhood cancer survival has given rise to the genesis of neurocognitive alterations of utmost importance in this population. The objective of this work was to analyze possible language deficits in pediatric cancer patients. The sample was made up of 60 minors, 20 with a diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (M=11.20, SD=3.71), 20 with different Central Nervous System Tumors (Mean=11.62, SD=1.97) and 20 minors without pathology who were part of the control group (Mean=11.13, SD=3.35). The Verbal Fluency tests, the Boston Vocabulary Test, Pseudoword Repetition, Phonological Processing and Instruction Comprehension were administered to evaluate language in natural contexts respectively. A comparative analysis was carried out between the groups, finding language deficits in minors diagnosed with some type of cancer compared to the control group. In addition, other cross-sectional variables were analyzed such as IQ, attention and processing speed, which were affected in minor cancer survivors. The results found emphasize the need for early evaluation and intervention in this population given the importance of language as a central skill in the acquisition of knowledge in childhood. [1]
