El movimiento feminista marroquí: religión e identidad a debate

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es hacer una aproximación al feminismo en Marruecos como discurso y movimiento, indagando en los mecanismos que utiliza para la deconstrucción de la identidad de género y la reconstrucción de una nueva identidad femenina y feminista durante los dos grandes debates que marcaron el movimiento y que han conducido a la primera reforma del Código de Estatuto Personal en 1993 y al Código de la Familia de 2004. Es un movimiento que forja un discurso basado en el principio de la igualdad entre los sexos y que se inspira, por un lado, en los derechos humanos universales, y, por otro lado, en la šarīʿa islámica leída e interpretada mediante la feminización del iǧtihād. Es un discurso que está en pleno proceso de cambio y resignificación y que debe ser estudiado tanto en su contexto histórico como en su relación con los demás discursos que lo interpelan.

The aim of this article is to examine feminism in Morocco as a discourse and a movement by investigating the mechanisms used for the deconstruction of gender identity and the reconstruction of a new feminine and feminist identity during the two great debates that have marked the feminist movement in that country, which led to the first reform of the Personal Status Code in 1993 and then to the Family Code in 2004. It is a movement that forges a discourse based on the principle of gender equality and universal human rights on the one hand, and on Islamic sharīʿa interpreted through the feminization of ijtihād on the other. It is a discourse which is currently in the throes of change and redefinition and which must be studied both in its historical context and in relation to the other discourses that challenge it.
