Retablos del siglo xx y sus trazas. El escultor Damián Pastor (1845-1904) y su obra en la iglesia de Tijarafe

Abstract

Realizar el dibujo de la traza de un retablo era costumbre entre escultores y tracistas, pero no siempre hemos tenido la suerte de que éstas se conserven hasta nuestros días. El hallazgo de uno de estos dibujos en la iglesia parroquial de Tijarafe no sólo enriquece nuestro patrimonio, sino que confirma la existencia de obras salidas de la gubia del escultor clasicista valenciano Damián Pastor (1845-1904), cuyo retablo de Nuestra Señora del Rosario del templo tijarafero es el único realizado por él que conozcamos.

The realization of a drawing of the altarpiece to be composed was custom among the sculptors and tracists. What is not common is the conservation of these traces until the present time. The finding of one of these drawings is fundamental for the study of these works and the understanding of their construction. Dated on the first years of the 20th century, those found in the parish church of Tijarafe, not only enrich our heritage, also confirm the existence of works from the gouge of the Valencian classicist sculptor Damián Pastor (1845-1904). The Our Lady of the Rosary altarpiece of the tijarafero temple is the only one made by him that we know.
