However, there is little research on the needs offamilies with children with ADHD and the response of schools to improve their relationshipand collaboration with these families. This research has as a general objective to know theneeds of families with children with ADHD with the ultimate goal of improving family-schoolrelationship. To this end, a case study was carried out with a qualitative methodology in anEarly Childhood and Primary School, located in an urban area in the south of Tenerife. Thekey informants were the families and the teachers of the children diagnosed with ADHD at theschool. For the collection of data semi-structured interviews and documentary analysis wereused. The results have allowed the description of the needs of the families from own perspectiveand that of teachers. In particular, they present difficulties with regard to the teaching-learning María Núñez Marrero Página 4 de 266process, norms and responsibilities, controlling frustration, self-esteem of their son or daughterand strategies and support from specialist staff in line with literature of reference of ADHD.Therefore, these results point out to the need to improve relations between families and theschool, and to create in the school a space that allows support and response, such as, forexample, a program for parents to face during a course difficulties and uncertainties expressedby families addressed.
