AB Workers need a suitable initial education to do adequately the tasks related withtheir job. In the educational area is interesting to know if the initial teaching of elementaryeducation teachers is appropriate to attend the task related with their obligations. Theobjective of this investigation is to research if the academic training that 4º course studentsreceive in La Laguna University to do elementary education teachers is appropriate. It hasbeen used a mixed methodology. We work principally with quantitative data. In the researchwere used two samples: a group of La Laguna University students that work to do elementaryeducation teachers and a group of elementary education teachers that work currently. Theresults show that students that answered the survey think that they have received insufficienteducation about to attend the individual differences of children and to guide them. Thishappens in spite of both are principal actions of teachers. The students consider that there areinsufficient relation between academic contents and the work needed to do the teacher’s job. 3The students want more practical contents. Also they are satisfied with labor practices andthey think that is necessary strengthen this type of teaching.
