The objective of this work was to verify whether the angry-irritable scale of thescreening instrument MAYSI-2 is related to the clinical syndromes and expressedconcerns scales of the MACI. To this end, both instruments were administered to a totalof 109 adolescents with judicial measures on the island of Tenerife. By means of twomultiple regression analyzes, the percentage variance of the scale of the MAYSI-2explained by the scales of the MACI was calculated. The results showed that thevariables of the clinical syndromes scale of the MACI that are more related to theangry-irritable scale of MAYSI-2 are depressive affect and delinquent predisposition, while with respect to the expressed concerns scales of MACI, the variables that aremost related to the angry-irritable scale of the MAYSI-2 are self-devaluation and socialinsensitivity. These results suggest that the Spanish adaptation of the MACI is 3significantly related to the Spanish adaptation of the MAYSI-2, in what refers to thescales mentioned above. This finding indicates that the Spanish adaptation of theMAYSI-2 could be useful as a means of detecting possible risks in young people whocome into contact with the judicial system. However, in order to be able to drawdefinitive conclusions, it would be necessary to carry out studies with larger samples inwhich the rest of the variables of the instruments will be analyzed.
