AB In liquid modernity, wasting time in years of study seems a vain and meaningless sacrifice, when the media continually bombard us with shortcuts to obtain all the pleasures we desire. Under this mentality, the education that was based on the idea of offering a lifelong education with the aim of achieving a democratic, supportive and tolerant citizenship, is in question. This research makes an analysis and reflection on the essay "The challenges of education in liquid modernity" written by the sociologist Zygmunt Bauman where the author analyzes how globalization has affected the foundations of education to the point of placing it in a critical state
