Morespecifically, indirect discrimination - a fundamental factor causing the gender pay gap -is delimited and penalized in Spanish legislation. However, there are elements ofindirect discrimination that worsen the pay gap, not only intending its income but alsowhen it comes about agreed-upon remuneration, particularly in certain professionalsectors where women's presence is larger. In this essay, the gender pay gap will firstlybe analyzed from a numerical perspective, as the statistics show, and secondly aninterpretation of wage discrimination aggravating factors between both sexes and theeffect that law has on the matter.
