So, casescharacterize the nominal endings in Greek and Latin. Declining a noun and therefore varying their endings we canexpress different syntactic functions: nominative case corresponds to the subject of the sentence, the accusativeusually to the direct object, the dative to the indirect object, etc. It must be added that the use of prepositionscompletes the notions expressed by cases. In our work we start with this basic distinction and study case by caseand preposition by preposition, comparing both languages Greek and Latin in order to help students and highschool teachers.Methodologically, we use the traditional syntax, but we employ and apply, sometimes, the structuralistideas of Lisardo Rubio because we believe that they have a great explanatory value.
