AB In the following pages we have tried to offer to the interested reader atranslation of three hagiographical texts ftom the original Latin intoSpanish. These biographies, written in the Middle Ages, deal with the lifeand passion of Saint Desiderius, bishop of Vienne (t 606 or 607). Thehagiographical biography of Saint Desiderius was told by three differentauthors, over several geographical and chronological circumstances, andwith various finalities and motivations, as ftom an ideological point ofview as ftom a literal), perspective. These three biographical text are:1.- the Vita vel passio Sancti Desiderii a Sisebuto rege composita,2.- the Passio Sancti Desiderii episcopi et martyris, a work by ananonymous monk ofVienne (s. VIII?), and 3.- the Passio Sancti Desideriiepiscopi Viennensis, written by Ado, bishop of Vi enne ( t 875 a. C.).
