AB In this article an elementary approach to Ramon Llull’s enormous and complex work ismade, with special emphasis on its encyclopaedic nature, as well as on its relationship withthe art of memory and, to a lesser extent, with the Cabbala and hermetism. Finally, a broadoutline of Llull’s subsequent influence is presented.
