AB Does the androcentric construction of binary sexual identity and heteronormativeorientation persist in the new generations? The analysis of the legal framework showshow we continue to live in an androcentric world that understands where sexual identityand orientation can be protected. At the same time, human development theories continueto show binary construction of heterosexual identity as normative, pointing out social andpersonal difficulties in non normative constructions. This paper explores the perceptionsof adolescents and young people (between 13 and 25 years old) through a questionnaire.According to the results the majority does not identified with the heteronormativepatriarchal system, manifesting acceptance for persons with nonbinary identity, or withnonheterosexual sexual orientation. Also, a significant part identify itself as non2heterosexual. However, there is some resistance to abandoning the binary model on apersonal level, as well as concern about the sexual orientation of others. It also highlightsthe critical awareness (especially of those who identify themselves as women) of thesocial undervaluation of women versus men.
