AB Astrotourism is also called star or astronomical tourism. This term defines a type of activetourism, aimed at the learning of astronomy. For this reason it usually attracts scientists,photographers or groups of people who enjoy astronomy, combining leisure with the acquisition ofknowledge. This type of sustainable tourism has been developed on the island of La Palma throughinitiatives such as the Starlight Foundation, which emerged in 2007 during a conference with theaim of preserving the quality of the skies and observing the stars as cultural heritage. Therefore,this work is a bibliographic review that studies astrotourism in La Palma, to analyze the means withwhich it is counted and the influence it has on the area. After the analysis of the theoreticalframework and the bibliography found, it is concluded that astrotourism can be a tourist activity initself with great potential, and also as a complementary activity for other types of tourism
