AB This work aims to analyze the cost efficiency regarding family companies of the textile sector in Spainduring the period 2013-2017.To this end, a stochastic frontier model has been used to estimate the cost efficiency and itsdeterminants in terms of family businesses in the textile sector in Spain, from 2013-2017. Thestochastic frontier model allows to analyze the efficiency of companies in the textile sector, consideringfactors such as economic growth, intensification of competitors, and to determine the importance of thedifferent factors that lead to inefficiency, proposing strategies to improve performance.One of the results obtained is that during the period analyzed, the profitability has been increasing overtime, with an average of about 77%. This shows that the industry has responded relatively well to costcontrol.
