AB This work tries to approximate how The Arbitration on Imports and Deliveries of Goods (AIEM)protects the industry of the Canary Islands through the incomes. The industrial production of theCanary Islands is characterized by its scarcity and the industrializable raw materials in the islandsbelong mainly to the primary sector, so industry that exists depends on the import. That is whythe islands enjoy a special tariff regime, which includes the AIEM, whose main purpose is toprotect domestic production and encourage and promote industrial activities so that in the futurethey can replace imported products.Our work will focus on analyzing the tariff items, grouping them in industrial sectors, and, studyingthe percentage that represents each sector in the total industry, check whether the incomescorresponds to the weight of this sector.
