AB In this paper we intend to theorize about the need for a specific regulation or thepossible application of the current regulation to robots with artificial intelligence (AI).We will defend a risk-based classification of AI robots; study the possibility ofsubsuming the intelligent robot within the current legal categories and the creation of anew one; as well as the feasibility of implementing a robot registry, as well as anidentification number. Finally, we will verify the applicability of the current legalliability framework in cases of damage caused by the actions or omissions of a AI robotand the imputation −if possible− of responsibility to the machine itself in certaincircumstances.
