AB Up to the seventies, with the publication of Bajtín’s book about Rabelais and the popularculture of the Middle Ages, modern criticism did not recover the concept of «laughter» asan element originated in the ancient celebrations of the Antiquity. But this concept goesfurther than that, since it can be found in the roots of each «poetic speech act».
